Ace Move for West Kilbride Tennis with Some New Courts is Now Open
This is the ace move for West Kilbride and 3 new all-weather tennis courts. Currently preparing for service after structure work through the winter cold months. This is the Game, Set & Match for the organisers after raising £200,000 for the new facility, praised and claimed as among the best ones in Ayshire.
The major funders, Sportscotland, the North Ayshire Council, the West Kilbride Community Trust and The Moffat Charitable Trust. It therefore comes with substantial supplementary funding that contributed by a broad series of local businesses including individuals. The project consists of 3 floodlit synthetic grass tennis courts in Nethermiln Recreation Ground, West Kilbride and Kirktonhall Glen.
What The Chairman Said
The chairman of West Kilbride Community Sports Club named John Wilson commented “After over 5 years work through the Community Sports Club executors, delighted to reveal that the recently built tennis courts located in Kirktonhall, Glen, completed somewhat under the budget and in the fairly tight funding due date of Sportscotland.
“The courts appear enormous! We also do not have doubt that we have created one of the greatest tennis facilities located in Ayshire. This particular success was a true community effort. This community approach therefore would remain into Stage 2 that would concentrate on the substantial developments to facilities for soccer. We’ve also recently re-opened the West Kilbride Tennis Club to make this a complete power in Ayshire tennis. This is for the second time giving a 1st class facility those who are more motivated to recreational tennis.”
“The courts would also open for play in the beginning of April and the membership application now taken shortly when our new tennis site is up & running.
