The FA Helps Build a New 3G Artificial Grass Arena in Prescot
Premier League & FA Facilities donate an amount of £100,000 to assist Leisure Centre and Prescot Soccer on Merseyside make a new 3G artificial grass arena.
Opened by Volair Ltd, the arena will be utilized by Liverpool County FA and many grassroots football clubs in the area, which run resourcefulness like Just Play and Mash Up, providing entertaining football playing opportunities and ways for teens and kids to access local teams.
Years ago, because of the adverse climate, a lot of games had been called off across Knowsley- the previous winter saw ten weeks of football lost because of the increment weather. However, because of the all-weather environment of the new surface, this issue is no longer.
Liverpool Football Club Foundation and Everton Football in the Community will also utilize the pitch for events and other programmes like Fun Football evening sessions and Primary School Fun Clubs.
Sports Improvement Fund Donation
Last week, the facility now open with a donation of £190,000, given by Sport England’s Improvement Fund and an additional £20,000 investment by Volair Limited, an owned Knowsley Council subsidiary who will handle the entire Knowley’s Leisure Centres which include Community Use of the Centres for Learning and Prescot Soccer Centre.
According to the Managing Director of Volair, “The new arena is a fantastic addition to the Soccer Centre. It provides the platform to improve the experience for all players and a real boost to sport in the area,”
“The centre already provides a diverse and varied programme of football activities attracting players of all ages and abilities. Along with the gym facilities and players’ lounge, the centre will provide a real hub for sport in Knowsley. All of this would have not been possible without the funding and support from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund.”
Chief Executive of the Football Foundation, Paul Thorogood, added: “I am delighted that a grant from the Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund has enabled Volair Ltd to upgrade The Prescot Soccer and also Leisure Centre. This development will provide a real boost to sport in the local area.”
Grassroots Projects
“Since 2000, the Football Foundation has supported grassroots projects. Worth more than £1.3bn, they have invested into areas where the need is greatest. Also where it will have the biggest impact of more people playing football and a range of other sports.”
Knowsley Metropolitan Council and Volair Ltd works along with The Football Foundation and the Liverpool FA. This is to put together a 5 years Football Development Plan. A dream for how football sports will play onsite with an importance on augmenting participation.
Some grassroots teams in the area will be utilizing the area as their home ground next season. Some of which take account of Prescot Cables FC as well as Knowsley Youth. These youth and reserve teams will play their home games at the newly improved facility. Invites have gone out to the entire primary schools in the area to cooperate in the yearly Football Tournaments.
